THE LOST TREASUREphoto series, 2016.

Several centuries ago, a castle was built - the castle of Opeka. It was big and beautiful. It was created in the Baroque period, and was added to in Historicism. Many nobles and counts lived inside. At one time, a school was also located there, but not long after that it was abandoned and left alone. It has been waiting for years for reconstruction and adaptation, which never comes, and over time it dies and remains only a ruin until it disappears too. Only empty promises and memories remain.

I understand that one day Opek Castle will disappear and only the shadow of the story "Once upon a time..." will remain. Therefore, I decided to make a series of photos called "Lost Treasure". With this series of photographs, I am trying to restore the spirit of the castle from an artistic point of view, by moving some parts of the space and creating new spaces and new dimensions.

I dedicate this series of photos to all the people he meant to and who fondly remember him and tell stories to their grandchildren about how he used to be. Thanks to these stories, even though the castle is in ruins, it still lives on.
